In 2010 David Crowley, an Iraq veteran, aspiring filmmaker and charismatic up-and-coming voice in fringe politics, began production on his film A Gray State. Set in a dystopian near-future where civil liberties are trampled by an unrestrained federal government, the film's crowd funded trailer was enthusiastically received by the burgeoning online community of libertarians, Tea Party activists and members of the nascent alt-right. In January of 2015, Crowley was found dead with his family in their suburban Minnesota home. Their shocking deaths quickly become a cause célèbre for conspiracy theorists who speculate that Crowley was assassinated by a shadowy government concerned about a film and filmmaker that was getting too close to the truth about their aims.

Stine Aasland started her entrepreneur career in Norway. She bought a single gas station franchise, one of many in the chain Hydro Texaco located in the capital city of Oslo. Convenience stores in Norway make and sell fresh food daily, unlike convenience stores in the United States . In her free time, Stine perfected a Norwegian waffle that after a short while, became a popular product within her franchise.

Los Campeones Gym has been open for 34 years on Franklin Avenue and the Blaisdell location opened in 2014. Many local gyms have started and gone out of business in that amount of time but there is something special about this place. The key seems to be how we make people feel, we treat everyone with respect and make them feel appreciated. We’ve developed real friendships with many people here, we’re a real community.
